Effective date: October 24, 2026 · Developer: Jediel Santos · See also the Terms of Use (EULA)
This policy explains what information the game Aetherblade: Chronicles of Varnhold (the "Game"), on Android, iOS and the web, collects and how it is used. We keep it simple: we only collect what is needed to run your account, save your game and keep the online world safe.
| Data | Why | Where it is stored |
|---|---|---|
| Username and password (only if you create an online account) | To let you sign in and keep your heroes. No email address, real name or phone number is asked for. Your username is turned into an internal sign-in ID (username@players.aetherblade.game) that is not a real mailbox. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication and are stored only in hashed form; we can never see them. | Google Firebase Authentication |
| Name reservations: your username and your hero names, linked to your account ID | So that no one else can take the same username or hero name. Older versions of the app may also keep a copy of your heroes here. | Google Firebase Realtime Database |
| Game data: hero names, class, level, stats, items, gold, spells you own, quests, map and position, and your account's first and last sign-in time | To save your progress, run the online world (the server checks every action so the game stays fair) and show your hero to other players while you are online. | Our own game server (see section 3) |
| Chat messages you send in the game | To show them to other players on the same map. Messages are public to other players. They pass through our game server, which keeps only the last few messages of each map in memory so players who arrive can see recent chat; they are not written to a database and are gone after a short time or when the server restarts. | Our own game server (memory only) |
| Reports you send about other players (reason, the reported player's hero name and account ID, and the last few chat lines as context) | To review abuse and remove content or ban users. Reports can only be read by the developer, not by other players. | Google Firebase Realtime Database and our own game server |
| Fair-play records: automatic notes when the server rejects an impossible action (for example moving too fast), and bans | To protect other players from cheating and abuse. | Our own game server |
| Terms acceptance (version and time you agreed to the Terms of Use) | To record that you accepted the Terms of Use and Chat Rules. | Google Firebase Realtime Database |
| Gifts sent to your account (for example event rewards), until you claim them | To deliver them to your hero. | Google Firebase Realtime Database |
| Beta signup (only if you sign up on our beta page): email address, optional first name, device type (iPhone or Android), optional country, the time you signed up, and where you came from (for example Instagram) | To send you beta invites and game updates by email. To deliver your invite, your email is shared with Apple (TestFlight) if you chose iPhone, or with Google (Google Play testing) if you chose Android. Signups can only be read by the developer. | Google Firebase Realtime Database |
| Blocked players list, language choice and last hero selected | So you no longer see messages from players you blocked, and the Game remembers your settings. | Only on your device |
| Technical data such as IP address and device/browser type | Processed automatically by Google Firebase and by our game server to provide the service and protect accounts against abuse (for example limiting how many requests one connection can make). Our server's logs may contain your account ID, hero names and IP address. We do not use this data for anything else. | Google Firebase and our own game server |
| Install ID | A random install ID that the app creates itself (it is not taken from your device's hardware) is used only to prevent invite (referral) fraud and abuse, such as one person using several accounts on one device; it is kept while your account exists and deleted when you delete your account. | Your device and our own game server |
| Offline saves | If you play offline, your progress is saved only on your device and never sent to us. | Your device |
Purchases. The Game may offer optional purchases in the future. If it does, payments will be processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) in the apps, or by PayPal for a web shop. We will not receive or store your card details; we would only receive a confirmation of what was bought so we can deliver it to your account. This policy will be updated before any purchase becomes available.
If you play from outside the United States, your data is transferred to and processed in the United States.
Account and game data are kept for as long as your account exists, and are permanently deleted when you delete a hero or your account (see section 5). Online presence (your position on the map) is removed when you disconnect. Chat messages are not stored and disappear after a short time. Server logs and automatic daily backups of the game server are deleted after 14 days, so deleted data also disappears from backups within 14 days. Reports are kept as long as needed to handle them and for up to 180 days. Beta signups are kept until the beta ends or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first. You can also unsubscribe from beta emails at any time.
You can delete your account at any time inside the Game: sign in, open Menu > Account > Delete Account and confirm with your password. This cannot be undone. It permanently deletes:
What we keep: reports that involve you (sent by you or about you) are kept so we can still act on abuse, but they are anonymized: your account ID is removed and your hero names in the reported chat lines are replaced by "[deleted]". We also keep a list of the random IDs of deleted heroes (with no name or other data) only so that an old copy can never bring a deleted hero back. Copies in the automatic backups are removed within 14 days.
Deleting a single hero from the hero selection screen also permanently deletes that hero and its data. Offline saves are on your device; you can remove them in the offline Menu or by uninstalling the app.
You can also ask us to delete your account using the contact details below (tell us your username); we will do so within 30 days.
The Game is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS and secure WebSockets). Only you can load and play your own heroes, and the game server checks every change before saving it. Access to the game server is limited to the developer.
If we change this policy we will update this page and the effective date above.
